Luggage Management System

RCG’s Left Luggage Control System provide the left luggage service used at the Airport. The system dramatically helps in improving the efficiency of work by enhancing the accuracy of data. This client-server based architecture basically provides the tracking function for the customer’s luggage as well as the billing function for the service charge. The design of the system will be based on high reliability and good respond time. LLCS can:

• check-in and out customer's baggage via desktop barcode scanners
• allow operators to efficiently utilize the storage spaces via the intelligential auto-assignment of storage location
• enhance the accuracy of data using location confirmation and update modules
• allow operators to calculate the fee and bill the customers accurately
• provide accurate management statistics and reports (Sales, Inventory Report and etc.)
• provide better baggage tracking in the baggage storage area
• trace and control (on and off) the shift duties
• allows updating luggage information (e.g. relocation)
• perform stock take feature
• integrated with comprehensive audit trail

LLCS is implemented as a client-server architecture. Server itself will handle all data transaction from the clients including desktop workstations and handheld terminals. Different roles (Supervisors, End-users, Administrators and so) will have different user access level controls to perform different functions. Such system allows clients to left their luggage (check-in) at the storage area with an estimated duration. Then the receipt will be generated for clients to collect their luggage after certain period of time. Meanwhile, the system will automatically assign the luggage to a valid (vacant location) based on the backend logistic mechanism. When clients collect their luggage with the receipt (check-out), system will inform the system users regarding the location of the luggage, and calculate the fee based on the check-in and check-out time, and generate invoice to the clients.
