Croatia to issue new biometric passports
8 Mar 2010

Starting in 18 January 2010, citizens in Croatia can start applying biometric passports at all police stations in the country. The new passports have a modified visual identity and contain an RFID chip, digitalised facial image and two fingerprints template.

As expressed by the Chief of the Cabinet of Ministry of Internal Affairs, it will be virtually impossible to counterfeit the new passport as it is impossible to change the data on the RFID chip and in case of any changes, a passport has to be issued, according to the article.
