The national power and automation equipment manufacturer, ABB has recently deployed an RFID-enabled solution at its factory in Helsinki to track approximately 200,000 shipments annually, said the article. The new system aims to minimise human errors during shipping, which in turns affect subsequent invoicing process and thus payment collection.
The system will signal a warning error at the factory gate if a wrong load of products has been collected and notifications will be displayed when a vehicle’s consignment is incomplete. As an ABB spokesperson expressed, “By implementing RFID, we have reduced our manual work and have a more reliable way of inputting transaction data”.
