In Manchester, UK, a primary school is running a pilot program with students swiping their fingerprints to gain access to library usage, replacing the traditional library card system.
As a protection for privacy, the biometrics data collected will be converted from an image into a digital code, said the school board and the program is totally voluntary to join. The new system is aiming to deliver a more convenient login mechanism for the students, thus stream-lining the flow.
