Biometrics- enabled cafeteria payment system has been widely adopted in many educational bodies to stream line the purchasing process and prevents students from losing their lunch money. The school board of the Avon Lake district followed the trend and has recently installed biometrics scanner at the cafeteria for students.
Fingerprint records are not stored on the scanning device, therefore cannot be reproduced, which offers certain privacy protection. Prior to the biometrics system, the district used pass code system and the school officials appreciated the new installation that promises faster and accurate performance.
